Sony just announced the launch of an upgrade to the Sony Vaio P Series Lifestyle PC which is really impressive considering the specs that comes with it. The new model now, Vaio P11S1E packs with it Intel Atom Z540 processor, 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM, a 64GB SSD flash drive, an 8-inch 1600×768 display and runs Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit) offering up to 5 hours battery life and 10 hours for extended battery which will be sold separately.

With a price tag starting at $799 you really have to consider if it fits into your needs. Although barely weighing over 600g, it is a really superb on-the-go computing device with built-in GPS, digital compass, WLAN 802.11 b/g/n, Everywair 3G, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, microphone and front facing camera it is kind of worth it. Think the ipad is great? well this new Sony Vaio P Series is surely a competitor in terms of on-the-go computing device.

The press release was made by Sony Europe but sources say it should be available in June and we guessing that includes the United States.
