Apple Working On Radial Menu For iPhone 5 And iOS5

apple iphone5According to a patent application by Apple published today shows that Apple may be working on radial menu for the next coming iPhone5 and iOS5 mobile operating system. There is even hing this may come with OSX operating system also. Below is an abstract from the patent application

Some embodiments of the invention provide several novel techniques for manipulating radial menus in graphical user interfaces of an application. In some embodiments, radial menus include multiple selectable items arranged about an internal location (e.g., a center of the radial menu). The novel radial menu techniques of some embodiments include (i) non-uniform spacing of menu items, (ii) the use of shading or highlighting within a region associated with an item to indicate the present selectability of the item, and (iii) the use of radial gestures for opening sub-menus and the subsequent display of the sub-menu.

Wandering how this will fit in with the next iPhone 5? You will have to wait.

Samsung has announced that sales has gone over $1M since the tablet was launched and that they plan to clock $1.5M before the year ends. Looks like there target is not far from reality since Christmas and New Year can help boost sales as people begin shopping for the holidays.

Verizon Wireless Not Planning iPhone Anytime Soon

iphone verizonIt is official now. Rumors about the new iPhone 4G coming to Verizon Wireless has been denied. According to a video interview with John Johnson from Verizon Wireless, there is no specific plan as of now about any device from Apple. There have been different blog posts about the new iPhone 4G coming to Verizon Wireless which lots of people have been expecting considering the fact that Apple has been with only AT&T for a while since they debut the first generation iPhone. Although there is another rumor about the CDMA version of the new iPhone coming to Sprint in the near future, we haven’t validated that as of yet too. AT&T Revises Data Plan Ahead Of iPhone 4G Launch

at&t iphone 4gAT&T has recently released a new and revised two-tier data plans for the coming iPhone 4G. The iPhone 4G is expected to launch June 7 and this is announcement just on time for the customers just waiting to the the new generation iPhone 4G. The first data plan is the DataPlus plan which is at $15 for 200MB of data usage. There will be an additional $15 for another 200MB is you go over the first 200MB limit. The other plan is the DataPro plan which gives customers 2GB of data usage for $25. AT&T said 2GB data usage is just enough for most users and in fact 98% of their data customers use under 2GB, so kind of enough for some heavy data users. There will be an additional charge of $10 per 1GB data usage above the 2GB.

Google recently released an update to the Google Maps app for Blackberry and the app has much better options and looks better compared even to the android version.

The update added couple of things that offers better biking direct like refreshing the search results list, adding images and ratings and some welcome quick link buttons to get other directions or place a phone call to businesses. There is also an option to email or text directions.

Qik To Charge $5 Per Month For Video Chat On HTC Evo 4G

Now news is out that there will be an additional $5 per month for using Qik video chat on the phone. The news leak was from someone from Sprint, so it is from a very trusted source. Verizon Gym Employee Fired For Leaking Pictures Of Unreleased Motorola Shadow

A Verizon Gym employee just got fired for leaking pictures of the unreleased Motorola Shadow. The employee was said to have found the lost phone and took a few pictures.  with it before turning the phone in. Few hours later the guy got fired. That is some strict security and rules. According to the guy who sent in the pictures, the phone has pretty good specs. 4.3 inch screen, 8 megapixel camera, 16GB storage, snapdragon processor, HDMI port, all touch screen. Next Generation iPhone 4G Will Be Available In June

iphone 4gAn AT&T employee just confirmed that the next generation iphone 4G will be available for purchase earlier than most people think. The phone is confirmed to be launched in June and not July, not even late June according to an AT&T employee. This confirmation is as a result of the news that AT&T told its employees that there will be no vacations allowed in June. That is really fun to hear considering the fact that most phones will be coming out this June. June will really be the month for battle for all these high end smartphones, so we have to see who has what it takes.
